Re: Bluepill supported uarts (Rodgers core)

Many of us in the early Arduino forum attempted to impart good programming methodology to newbies. But, most of the new members just wanted to drive to working code: good code, bad code, or spaghetti code. Said another way, 'They just wanted something to work; efficiency and form were not priorities...

Re: stm32duino.com is back again !

stm32duino.com is the official forum (Arduino for STM32) and is supported by STM. I know, but until a few days ago, this was all we had. And there were some people here, but now stm32duino is back, there immediately are a LOT more people there O_O. It just amazes me a bit. There are lots of blog po...

Re: Bluepill supported uarts (Rodgers core)

this pervasive availability of mcus has implications, the world is just waking up and noticing all these, the arduino, stm32duino fans has all the fun since long back. this is probably part of that 'bleeding edge' , and this isn't as 'small' as 'iot' The only thing bleeding here is the misuse...

Re: Bluepill supported uarts (Rodgers core)

... in a sense the 'ecosystem' + libraries etc and basic arduino cores is pretty much an 'operating system' around mcus just that as not all pieces can fit in that little memory and storage , they form libraries or components in which one can mix and match and place them in. in a sense it is kind o...

Re: Bluepill supported uarts (Rodgers core)

... both the official core & libmaple (roger's) core are nearly an o/s running on the little stm32 mcus but libmaple core is and still remains a community core ... I know you know this and are just excited over the STM32 cores but not everyone reading this may understand that. MicroPython running o...

Re: STM32F407VET6 works well

... Anyways, is there any available bootloader for this black board since STM32duino bootloader is in the option in arduino(upload method). Thank you. Roger's core supports 2 black boards: https://web.archive.org/web/20190316155736/http://wiki.stm32duino.com/index.php?title=Black_Pill https://web.a...

Re: Bluepill supported uarts (Rodgers core)

@mrburnette Thank you for this info :) I need 2 "real" uarts , and the USB uart , and saw that the BP has 3 "real uarts". ... So, there is an excerpt from the old documentation on Roger's Core, about a year ago. USB: Serial There are two implementations of Serial communication: UART and USB. This p...

Re: Bluepill supported uarts (Rodgers core)

From my notes (old forum): 1/2 Serial UART There are two implementations of Serial communication: UART and USB. This page describes the UART based. Please check the Menu option (menu_options#automatic-serial) to see which one is selected. SerialUART1 is bound to UART1, SerialUART2 to UART2 etc... Pl...

Re: Bluepill with CKS32F103C8T6

imho arduino and all these isn't simply about IOT and all. since the evolution of GPIO pin configurable mcus, the world is starting to notice the generic functionality boards and mcus (they aren't RPi either). today we do all these as hobbyists and tinkerers. but i'd guess large corporates are star...

Re: Bluepill with CKS32F103C8T6

... I do not have a crystal ball, I would have bet on the Cypress PSoC but while most flexible, there was not enough traction to overwhelm market share. Maybe FPGA technology will morph with existing microcontroller silicon but merging expensive technology with cheap, commodity tech and keeping the ...
